Key Components of a Plastic Pipe Production Line
Extruder
The heart of the extrusion line, the extruder, heats and melts the raw plastic material. A rotating screw inside the barrel pushes the material through the system while maintaining even heat distribution.
Die Head
The die head shapes the molten plastic into a cylindrical pipe. The die’s design is crucial as it determines the pipe’s size and thickness, ensuring precision and consistency.
Vacuum Calibration Tank
After the plastic exits the die, it enters the vacuum calibration tank. This step helps maintain the correct dimensions of the pipe by cooling and stabilizing its shape.
Cooling Tank
The pipe is then cooled further in a water tank to solidify the material and enhance its mechanical properties such as strength and flexibility.
Haul-Off Machine
The haul-off machine pulls the pipe through the extrusion line at a controlled speed, ensuring uniform thickness and shape.
Cutter
